Mercedes-Benz GLK Freeside, Specs, Pictures, Video and Review!




Unveiled to the American Motoring Public at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, the Mercedes-Benz GLK is the marquee's latest entrant in the SUV market. It is based on a C-Class Chassis and is a competitor to BMW's X3. It is an interesting model, available with 4Matic, all-wheel-drive and at least three engine choices. In the U.S. 2.8 liter V6 and a 3.5 liter V6 are likely to be available - thus, the GLK 280 and the GLK 350. In Europe a diesel variant can be assured. As one can see from pictures of the GLK it cetainly takes it's styling clues from the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the Geländewagen. Models should hit dealers by the First Quarter of 2009 (Q1 '09).
